FM Vivian Balakrishnan gave the opening remarks at the 2018 Southeast Asian Young Leaders Programme at the sidelines of the 17th Shangri-La Dialogue on 3 June 2018. He spoke about the strategic imperatives for ASEAN in an uncertain and rapidly changing world. “First, we need to double down on free trade and economic integration. Second, we need to ride on the digital revolution and harvest opportunities for our people so that no one gets left behind. Third, we must uphold ASEAN Centrality and unity in the face of an evolving regional architecture.” – FM Vivian Balakrishnan.
