Economic Corridor Development for Competitive and Inclusive Asia Training

PR Tan Hung Seng delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Economic Corridor Development for Competitive and Inclusive Asia Training on Monday, 9 July 2018.  The training was jointly organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), ADB Institute, and the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Facilitation Centre.  It will introduce the concepts of economic corridors, and facilitate exchange of ideas through case studies from ASEAN to approximately 30 middle to senior-level government officials from ASEAN’s sub-regional arrangements.  In his address, PR stressed the imperative for ASEAN, and sub-regional programmes, to not only enhance logistics and transport infrastructure, but also strive to achieve greater synergy between sub-regional and regional efforts.  PR Tan’s speech is appended:
