PR Tan Hung Seng delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Economic Corridor Development for Competitive and Inclusive Asia Training on Monday, 9 July 2018. The training was jointly organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), ADB Institute, and the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Facilitation Centre. It will introduce the concepts of economic corridors, and facilitate exchange of ideas through case studies from ASEAN to approximately 30 middle to senior-level government officials from ASEAN’s sub-regional arrangements. In his address, PR stressed the imperative for ASEAN, and sub-regional programmes, to not only enhance logistics and transport infrastructure, but also strive to achieve greater synergy between sub-regional and regional efforts.
