Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited Bali, Indonesia, from 10 to 11 October 2018 to attend the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat and ASEAN Leaders’ gathering. PM Lee also participated in a moderated dialogue with World Bank Group (WBG) President Jim Yong Kim at the WBG’s Third Annual Human Capital Summit. PM Lee co-Chaired the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering with Indonesian President Joko Widodo. “Singapore has made sustainable development a key theme for our ASEAN Chairmanship. We need to align our economic development objectives with sustainable development goals, so that growth can improve the lives of citizens, but not at the expense of our external environment. ASEAN will continue to engage and work closely with the United Nations, World Bank and International Monetary Fund. They support ASEAN’s community-based building efforts and help countries close development gaps.” – PM Lee Hsien Loong
