Singapore’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN Ambassador Tan Hung Seng, in Singapore’s new capacity as coordinator for ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations, spoke at the Opening of the first ASEAN-EU Cooperation and Scholarships Day and Blue Book Launch at the ASEAN Secretariat on Wednesday, 8 August 2018. The event coincided with the ASEAN Secretariat’s celebration of the 51st anniversary of ASEAN’s founding. The ASEAN-EU Cooperation and Scholarships Day is meant to raise awareness of the breadth and depth of the EU’s cooperation and development programmes with ASEAN, as well as showcase opportunities for intra-ASEAN scholarships and scholarships to study in Europe. The 2018 edition of the Blue Book compiling ASEAN-EU cooperation and development programmes was launched by ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Permanent Representative Tan Hung Seng, and the EU Ambassador to ASEAN Francisco Fontan.
