26th ASEAN-EU Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) Meeting

The 26th ASEAN-EU Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) Meeting was held on Wednesday, 20 February 2019 at the ASEAN Secretariat.  The Meeting was co-chaired by CDA a.i. Stephen Quick with David Daly, Head of Division for Southeast Asia, European External Action Service (EEAS) and Jean-Louis Ville, Head of Unit for Development Coordination for East, Southeast Asia and the Pacific, European Commission.  This was the first ASEAN-EU JCC Meeting co-chaired by Singapore following the handover of country coordinatorship for ASEAN-EU relations from Thailand.  The meeting took stock of joint cooperation activities, and discussed potential areas for further cooperation.  The JCC meeting also welcomed the in-principle agreement of the 22nd ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting in January 2019 to upgrade ASEAN-EU relations to a Strategic Partnership, subject to details and timing to be worked out.
