PR Gerard Ho co-chaired the 20th ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Council (JCC) on Monday, 25 May 2026, as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Japan Relations.

As one of ASEAN’s oldest and most trusted partners, Japan has been a key contributor to regional peace, stability and development. This was reaffirmed at the 20th ASEAN-Japan Joint Cooperation Council (JCC) held on Monday, 25 May 2026, co-chaired by PR Gerard Ho as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Japan Relations. We also welcomed Japanese Ambassador to ASEAN Yonetani Koji, who co-chaired his first JCC since his appointment in November 2025.

Working together with like-minded partners like Japan will ensure ASEAN remains resilient amid growing global uncertainties and crises. We look forward to taking this partnership to new heights as we enter the third year of our coordinatorship!
