Secretary-General of ASEAN Dato Lim Jock Hoi attended the 23rd ASEAN Finance Ministers Meeting and the 5th ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting (AFMGM) in Chiang Rai, Thailand on 5 April 2019.

The 8th Protocol to Implement Financial Services Liberalisation under the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services was signed by the ASEAN Finance Ministers at the sidelines of their Meeting.

The AFMGM also discussed the progress of the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025 and ASEAN financial cooperation, including key initiatives  on further integrating the region’s payment systems in the digital economy, enhancing connectivity  and trade through customs cooperation, strengthening  disaster resilience and promoting sustainable financing in the capital markets and banking integration.
