ASEAN FOREIGN MINISTERS’ RETREAT 4 TO 6 FEBRUARY 2018, SINGAPORE

            Singapore will host the annual ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat at the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach from 4 to 6 February 2018, as part of its Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2018.  Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will chair the Retreat. 

             The Retreat is the first gathering of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers hosted by Singapore during its 2018 Chairmanship.  Following ASEAN’s 50th anniversary milestone last year, the Retreat will be a useful and timely opportunity for the Foreign Ministers to discuss the way forward for the ASEAN Community.  The Foreign Ministers will discuss ASEAN’s priorities in line with its 2018 themes of “Resilience” and “Innovation”.  The Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on regional and international developments.
