CALL ON PRIME MINISTER LEE HSIEN LOONG BY ASEAN SECRETARY-GENERAL DATO LIM JOCK HOI

ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana this afternoon. Dato Lim is visiting Singapore for consultations with the ASEAN Chair at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. Dato Lim, who has just assumed his post on 1st January this year, was accompanied by Deputy Secretary-General for the ASEAN Political-Security Community V P Hirubalan and Deputy Secretary-General for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Vongthep Arthakaivalvatee.

PM Lee reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to ASEAN and support for Dato Lim and the ASEAN Secretariat. PM Lee and Dato Lim discussed Singapore’s priorities and deliverables for the year ahead as ASEAN Chair, and Dato Lim expressed ASEAN Secretariat’s support for Singapore’s ASEAN Chairmanship.
