MFA Press Statement: 20th ASEAN SUMMIT, 2- 4 April 2012

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the 20th ASEAN Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 2 to 4 April 2012. He will be accompanied by Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K. Shanmugam, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The Leaders will discuss the progress in community building efforts and ASEAN’s goal of realizing the ASEAN Community by 2015. They will take stock of the implementation of the ASEAN Charter and the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity, as well as discuss the ongoing efforts toward the realisation of a Drug-Free ASEAN by 2015. They will also exchange views on regional and international issues.
