18TH ASEAN SUMMIT, JAKARTA, 7-8 MAY 2011
Senior Minister S. Jayakumar will represent Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the 18th ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 7 to 8 May 2011. SM Jayakumar will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The ASEAN Leaders will discuss the progress in ASEAN's community building efforts towards their common goal of realising the ASEAN Community by 2015 and take stock of the implementation of the ASEAN Charter. The ASEAN Leaders will also exchange views on regional and international issues, and discuss ASEAN's role in the regional political, economic and security architecture, as well as matters pertaining to the future direction of the East Asia Summit.
