ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Statement on The Second Summit between The United States and The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

The ASEAN Foreign Ministers acknowledge the efforts made during the Second Summit between United States (US) President Donald J Trump and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un on 27th – 28th February 2019 in Hanoi, Viet Nam to bring progress to the denuclearisation process of the Korean Peninsula. The Ministers encourage the US and the DPRK to continue their diplomatic endeavours in order to lay the groundwork to establish a lasting and stable peace regime and complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula. ASEAN stands ready to continue to play a constructive role in contributing to peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula.
